 VocabSlamTM is the flagship business of PrepSlam LLC, a company founded by educators from Columbia University who have taught in schools and at major test preparation companies and know that you don’t need to pay thousands of dollars to increase your SAT and GRE test scores to get into great colleges and graduate schools. Matthew Camp
Founder and CEO
Mr. Camp is a PhD candidate at Teachers College, Columbia University. He has taught SAT math and verbal for Kaplan, Test Takers, Inc., and Aristotle Circle, and has held employment in higher education and public relations for over 10 years. Mr. Camp received a MA in Public Policy from Rutgers University and double majored in political science and psychology at the University of Delaware.  He likes the Beach Boys and biking around New York City.

Dan Altano Director of Marketing, Co-Founder
Mr. Altano teaches English at the City College of New York. He holds a degree in Journalism from Quinnipiac University, and is enrolled in a masters program in Creative Writing at the City College of New York. He produces all video content for VocabSlam and runs the company's social media and marketing strategy. He also is also a singer/songwriter, an MC and a slam poet, and is a member of the New York City based band, Withersby.



Alia Sabbs 
Educator Outreach Coordinator
Ms. Sabbs is a graduate student at Teachers College, Columbia University pursing a master of arts in Education Policy. She was a 2010 Teach for America Corp member and taught reading/language arts in the DC Metro area for three years. Ms. Sabbs works with teachers and schools to tailor VocabSlam for use in classrooms. She enjoys traveling, going to music festivals and taking dance lessons.


Joseph Luesse

Co-Founder
Mr. Luesse is the Evaluation and Assessment Manager for Harlem RBI and DREAM Charter School. He received a Master’s degree in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and previously taught high school English for 10 years in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Detroit.  He also likes to get down to Krautrock and Alice Coltrane.
